PK Park is a new stadium in Eugene, Oregon. It is primarily used for baseball and is the home of the University of Oregon Ducks baseball team that resumed play in 2009, and the Eugene Emeralds in the Northwest League. The ballpark will have a capacity of 4,000 to 5,000 people. It was named after former University of Oregon Athletic Director Pat Kilkenny, who gave donations to help fund the stadium. The Ducks played baseball at Howe Field from 1936-1981. In their first game at the park on February 27, 2009, the Ducks beat defending national champions, the Fresno State Bulldogs, 1-0 on a walk-off single by senior Andrew Schmidt, in front of a sellout crowd of 2,777. |
